The HSE advises qualified asbestos analysts refresh their qualification and competence at least annually. This independently examined course is designed for anyone who undertakes clearance testing as part of their work, including air sampling, fibre counting and issuing certificates of reoccupation (e.g. asbestos analysts).
The objective of this course is to revise and update the candidates knowledge of air sampling and clearance testing techniques, including provisions for certificate of reoccupation.
The main subject areas will be health effects and current regulations, method statement/plan of work requirements, four stage clearance procedure, PPE/RPE requirements, air sampling methods of asbestos and counting requirements.
The course includes a full range of PowerPoint presentations, accompanying notes and additional course materials.
Candidates will be issued with a certificate of competency by BOHS on successful completion of the course.
Candidates for this course are expected to be aware of the contents of HSG 284 Asbestos: The Analysts Guide to Sampling, Analysis and Clearance Procedures and must already hold a P404 Certificate.
