RP402 Refresher – Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings

WHO IS IT FOR?

The HSE advises qualified asbestos surveyors to refresh their qualification and competence at least annually. This independently examined course is designed for anyone who surveys buildings for asbestos as part of their work, or manages asbestos surveyors and surveying teams.

COURSE CONTENT

Candidates will receive an overview of the original course and will focus on new technical developments and legislative changes with regard to carrying out asbestos Management Surveys – this will include risk assessment and risk management strategies.

Focus will be made on legislative requirements and changes in the guidance particularly HSG 264, uses of asbestos in buildings, preparing for, conducting and reporting on all types of asbestos surveys and building management.

The course includes a full range of PowerPoint presentations, accompanying notes and additional course materials.

ASSESSMENT

Candidates will be required to pass a 60 minute written examination.

QUALIFICATION AND CERTIFICATES

Candidates will be issued with a certificate of competency by BOHS on successful completion of the examination.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Candidates for this course are expected to be aware of the contents of HSG 264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide and have been carrying out asbestos surveys for at least a year and must already hold a P402 Certifciate.

* A charge of £100 + VAT will be added to all re-sit exam fees (in addition to the BOHS exam fee) to cover administration costs. This charge will be waived for candidates that have already attended the course with Environtec
