What does career progression look like within Environtec?

We talked to Surveyor, Ben Rogers, to learn about his experience.

When he’s not at work, Ben spends lots of time with family and friends, plays guitar, and trains at the gym or the pro wrestling school he attends! He joined us straight from school in 2019 and within that time has gone from being a Plan Drawer to being a qualified Surveyor. His journey is an excellent example of career progression within Environtec.

After starting out drawing plans, in late 2021, he first started going out on-site as a second man before starting his full-time surveyor training in 2022.

When asked why he wanted to train as a surveyor, Ben said: “When I first began survey training I found it very interesting. It was more challenging to me, and I much preferred being out and about instead of the office.

“I wanted to become a surveyor to better myself and my career. Having the P402 qualification and the idea of progression is what drew me to it. The company car and higher wage is a bonus of course, but I’m more thankful for the opportunities I have been offered in my time here so far.”

“Since becoming a trainee, my work has been more enjoyable and I’ve learned lots of new skills in my new position.”
