Over £1,000 raised for Youth4Youth charity

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve raised £1,111 (and counting!) for our Group chosen charity, Youth4Youth, so far this summer.

A little over a month ago, Environtec announced a year-long fundraising campaign that we’ll be completing with our Obsequio Group colleagues.

The aim?

To raise £10,000 for children’s wellbeing charity, Youth4Youth (Y4Y). 

Who is Youth4Youth?

Y4Y is a volunteer-led initiative, providing peer-to-peer support for young people aged 10-25 who need a trusted confidante to speak to about what’s on their mind.

Youth4Youth know that young people can sometimes prefer to talk to their peers rather than a known adult about worries or concerns. And Y4Y enable this valued support by providing mentors aged 16-25 who can be on hand to lighten a heavy load, or signpost young people to further resources that can really benefit them. Experiencing adolescence at a time when identities are quickly and easily built online, it can be difficult to feel seen and heard in person. Chatting to an impartial third party can be helpful, ensuring a young person feels heard.

June: Feeling the heat in support for Youth4Youth

How did we fundraise? With offices located all around the UK, it would have been tricky logistically to gather us all in one place at the same time. So, we embarked on our Group challenge in our respective locations.

On Sunday 21^st June, 20 of the team collectively ran or walked 174 miles – the distance between our Chelmsford and Newport office – on one of the longest (and hottest) days of the year! With the summer gifting us such lovely weather, there was no better way to spend a Saturday, feeling the sun on our faces and upping our step count for such a worthy cause.

Other staff also felt the heat, this time in the kitchen, bringing in sweet, baked goods to the office to be sold to Environtec staff and families at our Youth4Youth cake sale.

All in all, it’s been a sterling effort from Environtec employees,raising £1,111 (and counting!) in the month of June for our chosen charity.

A big thank you (and kudos) to everyone who’s donated or participated so far in our Group collective challenge. There’ll be more commendable efforts to report on in the coming months!
