MHS Homes is the largest independent landlord in the UK, managing more than 9,500 properties across the Medway, Maidstone, Gravesham, Dartford, and Tonbridge and Malling regions of Kent. The company offers a wide range of homes, including affordable and social rent properties, private rent homes, and homes on shared ownership schemes.
The project
MHS Homes had been a client of ours for some time before they expressed interest in our fire training courses. Like all businesses with a physical presence, the company needed to make sure everyone at their premises was trained to understand the behaviours and actions that can lead to an outbreak of fire and would be confident enough to handle the situation should an emergency arise.
The solution
The management team were initially looking for a business to deliver fire warden training to their nominated persons. However, they soon saw the importance of providing fire safety training to all staff at their headquarters in Chatham, so signed up for both our Fire Warden Training and Basic Fire Safety Awareness Training programmes.
Our head trainer Syd Barrett visited their offices to deliver sessions that proved to be an engaging mix of theory and practical training. Drawing upon his 25+ years in the fire service and sharing plenty of his own stories and experience, Syd ensured a useful and memorable programme for everyone who attended. The courses were well received, and employees came away with a much better understanding of the roles they need to play in fire prevention and management.
