Environtec secures new housing association fire risk assessment contract

Our fire department continues to go from strength to strength in 2023 – and we’ve seen further success in recent weeks with the confirmation of a new contract with a residential and sheltered housing society.

The society, which operates in the East and South East of England, has instructed Environtec to carry out its fire risk assessment quality checks for a minimum of three years.  

Each fire risk assessment (FRA) quality check will require our team to ascertain if their setups are suitable and sufficient, that the risks identified correlate with our experience in the industry, make comment on the overall perception of the FRA, and make any recommendations for future improvements.

As we covered in our previous article, changes have recently been made to the Building Safety Act 2022, which means businesses and owners/managers of HMOs now need to take further steps to mitigate the risk of fire within their properties. The new legislation officially came into effect on 1st October, placing more demands on the Responsible Person of each building, who must now ensure all fire risk assessments and fire safety arrangements are completed in full, regardless of the size of their premises, or what it is used for.

Some fines for non-compliance have also increased as of October, adding to the importance of managing this work effectively in line with the new guidelines.
