Anyone who has some control over premises must take reasonable steps to reduce the risk from fire and make sure people can safely escape if there is a fire.
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies to all non-domestic premises including the common parts of blocks of flats and houses in multiple occupation (HMO’s).
