Competency and Experience

Our laboratory analysis services are accredited by UKAS for asbestos testing which ensures conformity to ISO17025 and all bulk analysis actvities are carried out in accordance with HSE guidance HSG248 Asbestos: The analysts’ guide for sampling, analysis and clearance procedures.

All laboratory technicians employed by Environtec hold the internationally recognised BOHS proficiency module P401 – Identification of asbestos in bulk samples and have relevant industry experience.

We actively participate in Asbestos in Materials Scheme (AIMS) proficiency schemes administered by the Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL).

On completion of sample analysis customers are issued a formal Asbestos Fibre Identification (AFI) report which provide the result of the analysis.  This is normally emailed to the client or issued in person if the customer has used the drop-in service.  However, our laboratories are able to upload results on customers’ websites or databases, particularly when there is a high volume of samples or if there is a need to turnaround results quickly.
