Asbestos Management Plans

Introduction

Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 places an explicit “duty to manage” on the dutyholder.

An important element of this duty is to ensure that there is a “written plan” that sets out in detail how the risks from ACMs will be managed, to take the necessary steps to put the plan into action and to periodically review and monitor the plan and the arrangements to act on it so that the plan remains relevant and up-to-date.

The development of Asbestos Management Plans (AMPs) are based on consultation with customers; gathering information that enables our consultants to develop suitable and sufficient documentation that is tailored to the specific needs of our customers.

Key steps to the development of your asbestos management plan:

  • Consultation with you to assess your requirements and study of existing data and arrangements
  • Preparation of asbestos management plan
  • Review your plan with you to discuss its impact and ensure recommendations meet with your needs
  • Meeting with you to explain the details of the management plan and its implementation
  • Training and instruction for your representatives that will be responsible for the implementation of the plan and to all stakeholders
  • Regular review of the plan to ensure relevance and suitability
