Regional Government
Most, if not all local government bodies will have a responsibility for a portfolio of properties including libraries, schools, commercial buildings and domestic properties that will require a certain level of input to ensure health and safety compliance.
With the transfer of domestic properties to arms-length management and housing based organisations, the majority of our local government customers focus on the management of corporate and commercial properties and in particular with schools and colleges. There are exceptions to this rule and two of our key local government customers manage domestic stock.
Those properties built prior to the year 2000 will have a requirement for the identification and management of asbestos containing materials and this is an area that Environtec has gained a significant level of experience with over the last three decades.
We work with local government organisations in most regions we operate from and currently work in partnership with authorities in England, Scotland and Wales and include large county councils, London Boroughs and unitary authorities.
Working with local government throughout the UK is vitally important to Environtec as it is important to be active within the local communities we operate within and our partnerships with local government organisations allows us to do this.
The key area of work within the local government sector is with schools. Asbestos in schools has become an extremely emotive subject following high profile court cases and the active lobbying by teachers and parents which has been widely publicised by the media. We work closely with our local government partners to ensure that asbestos is managed effectively in schools and this is delivered through the implementation of a wide range of asbestos services.
Similarly to the housing sector, one area of delivery that has changed in the recent past is the requirement to ensure that data collected during asbestos surveys and inspections is transferred onto local government customer’s asbestos databases. Environtec has developed database management procedures to ensure that all asbestos data is collected and transferred to customer’s systems efficiently and effectively by a dedicated team of database managers and administrators.
With a national network of offices and laboratories, Environtec has the necessary experience and resource to deliver your organisation with professional compliance services.
