Course Information
Who is it for?
This newly introduced and highly recommended course by the Health and Safety Executive is for First Aiders in the workplace. This recommendation is designed to increase the level of a first aider's effectiveness by ensuring that skills and knowledge learnt during First Aid at Work & Emergency First Aid at Work courses are practiced and reinforced on a more frequent basis, than within the current first aid training structure. This half day refresher course is suitable for all candidates who hold a valid First Aid at Work Certificate or Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate
Course Content
The course complies with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Approved Code of Practice L74 guidelines for the qualification of workplace First Aiders.
- Aims and principles of First Aid
- Assess the situation in an emergency
- Basic Life Support (CPR)
- Management of the unconscious casualty
- Wounds and bleeds
Assessment
Delegates are observed throughout the course by the trainer demonstrating practical skills and answering oral questions.
Qualification and Certificates
On successful completion of the course the delegate will receive an Environtec attendance certificate which is valid for 12 months.
