Accreditation & Memberships

United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS)
UKAS is the sole national accreditation body recognised by the government to assess, against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services.

Accreditation by UKAS demonstrates the competence, impartiality and performance capability of companies conducting asbestos inspection and testing services.

UKAS has recently attempted to raise the profile and importance of the use of accredited companies through the publication of a useful guidance document - Who should you commission to carry out your surveys for asbestos? - this can be  downloaded here.

 
Environtec is accredited by UKAS for the following disciplines:

• Testing Laboratory (No 2030) in accordance with the recognised International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005 – General Requirements for the competence of testing and calibration services.

• Inspection Body (No.197) in accordance with the recognised International Standard ISO/IEC 17020:1998 - General Criteria for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection.

Environtec operates a documented Quality Management System that has gained BS EN ISO9001:2008 certification.

Environtec has been accredited to EXOR since 2005 - registration number KS3872.

Constructionline

Environtec has been accredited to Constructionline since 2000 - registration number 31410.

SAFEcontractor

Environtec has been approved by Safecontractor since 2007 - registration number N00101267.

Asbestos Control & Abatement Division (ACAD)

The Asbestos Control & Abatement Division (ACAD) formed as a separate division of the Thermal Insulation Contractors Association (TICA) in 1994 as a Trade Association and representing specialists in asbestos control and abatement.  ACAD is dedicated to ensuring its members work to the exacting standards required by legislation in the Asbestos Industry.

Environtec has been a member of ACAD since 2006 - registration number A000364.

United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association (UKATA)

UKATA has been endorsed to promote the highest possible standards concerning all types of asbestos related training by working with official governing bodies to uphold national standards, procedures and requirements by improving asbestos training standards, procedures and disciplines.

 
Environtec has been a member of UKATA since 2006 and is regsitered to deliver Category A (Asbestos Awareness) and Category B (Non-Licensed Asbestos Work) training courses - registration number UK0284A.

British Safety Council

The British Safety Council is a membership organisation committed to providing services of the highest quality and value, whilst influencing and informing health and safety legislation, policy and debate. Their groundbreaking work with young workers is gaining widespread recognition and support amongst their members, partners and the media.

Environtec has been a member of the BSC since 2010 - registration number S0335515-CM32EJ.

Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)

IOSH is the Chartered body for health and safety professionals. With more than 38,000 individual members, IOSH is the biggest professional health and safety organisation in the world.

Many of our consultants and managers are members of IOSH through the successful completion of NEBOSH and IOSH based courses.

British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS)

BOHS is both a learned society, publishing the world-renowned, scientific, peer-reviewed journal, Annals of Occupational Hygiene and the only professional society representing qualified occupational hygienists in the UK.  Through their Faculty of Occupational Hygiene BOHS set professional standards and are the only UK examining board for qualifications in occupational hygiene.

All Environtec staff are qualified to BOHS standards and deliver BOHS courses externally.
